How to Change Default Wallpaper Directory in Desktop Properties in Windows XP?
Two new wallpaper images have been added to the Wallpaper page—a coleus rendering and a cockscomb rendering.
I would like to post my utilities for registry and disk cleanup. It’s arguable that registry cleaners are necessary but I like to use them. Removing unnecessary files will free up a little bit of disk space and keep your hard drive cleaner for when you defragment it.
No single cleanup utility seems to get everything so I like to use a few of them and thought I would mention them all in one post.
Easy Cleaner is a multi-purpose cleanup utility program. It finds invalid registry entries, duplicate files, unnecessary files like backups, temps etc., invalid shortcuts, helps manage programs starting at Windows startup, manages the Windows Add/Remove software list, removes Internet Explorer’s temporary Internet files, history and cookies and shows you how your disk space is being used.
CCleaner’s strength is cleaning up unnecessary files in addition to being slick and fast. It allows you to have a lot of control over what types of files it will clean up. It also has a registry cleaner and program uninstaller. The program is updated regularly.
Glary Utilites includes a registry cleaner, shortcuts fixer, startup manager (for cleaning up dangerous startup entries), temporary files cleaner, tracks eraser and spyware remover.
One nice thing about this program is it scans for these things all at once instead of having to do them one at a time, called 1-Click Maintenance. You can however choose which scans you would like it to perform.
Two new wallpaper images have been added to the Wallpaper page—two blue images rendered from cat fur.
LClock is an attractive and highly customizable windows clock replacement. The default view looks like this:

When hovering your mouse over the clock it will show the date.
The look of the clock is highly configurable. You can choose to show AM/PM, change the size, height, font and spacing of the numbers, color and it even has a second color which can be offset. This way you can even give it an incised look as I’ve created for mine:

by choosing a darker color than what your taskbar has and offsetting it. The possibilities are endless.
A unique feature of this clock is it enables you to choose a custom Start button on the other end of the taskbar.
Two new wallpaper images have been added to the Wallpaper page—a photo of coffee beans and a photo of raspberries.
Paint.NET is a nice program if you’d like to use something relatively simple to edit your digital photos.
The interface is very appealing and the creators are improving the program with fairly regular updates.
If you are inexperienced with image editing software and just want to take the images from your camera and make them smaller and make any improvements so that you can attach them to an email message or upload them to a photo album site, here are some quick tips.
Of course, the program has many other features you can explore.
